July. 24th Vancouver

Lately things seem different, maybe it's me, who knows. I went to Vancouver last weekend and surprised the Ill Intent dudes and it was awesome to see those guys again as well as the Vancouver crew. Ill Intent's new songs sound super good and are recording this weekend so I'm juiced for that. I spent Saturday night at Hunter's and started Sunday with donuts and red bull and spent most of the day being a record nerd, it ruled. Visited my grandparents and drove home. Man I miss Vancouver, being there was a blast from the past and just remembered a lot of good times. Things in Kelowna have bin okay, really bin keeping to my self and busy with school and work. My new job is not very sweet, I work with the most racist lady and that hurts my head, but i make good money so for now ill bare through it.

July 17th

I lost someone in my life for real for the first time today. Weirdest feeling ever, don't really know how to feel, I know in the end my Nana is probably happier and will be remembered. I kinda feel as if me and my family just had a big fight weird right? bin kinda stressed lately I don't really know why, school, work, maybe, who knows, I think I'm just missing alot of people. I think I need something other then these responsibilities to keep my mind busy. Another reason I may be having these weird feelings is my sleep is messed, I wake up to go to school which is as late as 3 some days and am up to 5, hopefully I can get to sleep earlier tonight, weird I'm having a hard time sleeping Evan though I'm always busy. This weekend will bring light to my mood I'm sure. I just did three views of skull and they look terrible, hopefully I get better at this whole drawing thing soon it's definitely causing some problems.

July 13th

So week three starts of school on Tuesday, I've got alot of homework and having a hard time staying focused lately. This weekend I went and seen Gravemaker and Friday in Kelowna and was a nice release from school. Saturday me, Emma and Ryan went to Penticton and seen Gravemaker play again which was nice other then it getting cut off short by angry elders and the police. Good weekend all and all, Hopefully I can improve in my life drawing skills because right now they seem like there lacking.

July 7th

Starting my second week of school tomorrow, so far pretty unstressful. Most my classes seem pretty chill, 2 drawing classes, one of which has nude models every class, a photo shop class that i think is going to be awesome, a video production class I'm not very stoked on and a internet publishing class I haven't had yet but have tomorrow. Kelowna so far has been pretty okay, no real complaints, bin playing a lot of Call of Duty 4 and bin to the casino the last 5 nights. The casino streak ends tonight tho, down money and don't have much to began with. My homework so far has bin pretty minimal mostly just reading and a few drawings I'm struggling with, portraits are definitely a challenge. Excited to see how my drawing skills improve in the next couple months. hopefully will scan some pictures to put up on here.

July 2nd First Day of School

So I went to my orientation for school thinking that was all I had today but ended up having 6 hours of class, took me by surprise and wasn't ready for it.my first class was a drawing class that was pretty okay, teacher seemed nice and time went by pretty quick, got assigned a collage and 3 drawings, self portrait, portrait from memory and a picture of our hand as well as a couple chapters to read from the text. Then I had a three hour break then had a class that was all photo shop stuff. Was pretty good learned a lot. After that I went down town and went to open mic night at the habitat, wasn't really my jam but some dude playing acoustic death metal was definitely worth a laugh or two. After that ate some pochos then went to the casino. This was the first time doing something I couldn't do prior to 19. Lost 5 bucks in penny slots was kinda bummed. watched Dan win some money at poker then we went back to the slots where i put in another 5 bucks. Found my lucky machine and it did something weird and just started playing without me and some how I won almost 40 bucks, making a total of almost 30. I even called my mom at 1 am to let her know her son was a winner.

June 4th Madball, Wisdom in Chains, Reign Supreme

So I guess I'll start telling some stories from my east coast trip with Chris. So after getting on the plane in Kelowna heading to Calgary, Chris picked me up from the air port and we headed to Jeff and Sarah's house. When we got there Courtney and two cute dogs were waiting to hang out and Sarah made an awesome dinner. Michelle came over as well as XLJ and we got ice cream and chilled hard. After awhile we went to bed, I slept in a room in the basement called the "rape room" and it was pretty much just that, a tiny cement room, but I still slept awesome. Early the next morning we headed to the airport to head to Newark, NJ. Thanks a lot Sarah and Jeff for treating us awesome.

After a four hour flight and loosing three hours we arrived in New Jersey. We needed to get to Long Island, NY for the show, we had half ass directions witch involved about three trains. After not to much confusion, other then me thinking we needed to get off a stop to early and ending up getting 7 11 hot dogs to kill time until the next train and way more money then we thought we made it to where the directions ended with a walk 30 minutes to the venue. We quickly realized we didn't know what way to go, after a really nice dude in Sheer Terror wind breaker gave us a ride to the venue we finally made it. As soon as we got to the venue we thought it was a bar and we weren't going to get in, we were crushed. After realizing it wasn't a bar and meeting a super nice bouncer who let us carry our bags in we made it just in time for Reign Supreme. There set was really good and kids were into them. I quickly realized this was unlike any show I'd ever been to, maybe it was just I didn't know anyone but Chris and the huge dudes that I definitely didn't wanta mess with. After Reign Supreme was Wisdom in Chains, these guys have bin a band I wanted to see but never thought I was going to get to so I was super excited to see them. They were unreal live and I think every time I hear "The Land of Kings" I get shivers. Kids weren't as in to them as Reign Supreme but was a great set none the less. After Wisdom it was Madball. This was truly a site, Madball in New York! Everyone was going nuts and highlights were definitely the little dude in the red shirt doing hand springs and flips through the pit, destroying everyone. After the show we realized we didn't know what way it was back to the train station and had to get to Brooklyn. After walking for awhile and asking someone for directions we got a general idea and started walking some more. It was pretty late like around 1 0r 2 and we were in what seemed like kinda sketchy neighbourhood when a SUV drove past us and stopped at a stop sign and turned off it's lights and no one got out. I thought we were getting jumped for sure, but we walked past, I was hella nervous, but they never did anything. After finally finding the train station the same SUV drove past yelling something at us but we couldn't hear what they were saying. After a long train ride finally made it to Tom Longs house in Brooklyn.

July 1st Canada Day

So tomorrows my first day of school, still not sure how I feel. It's going to be a really awkward day of not knowing where to go and trying to find people I can relate to and to keep me company in the classes to come. So far being in Kelowna has bin pretty okay, lots of late night hang outs and some seeing some random people I didn't think I would ever see again and late nights at the beach. Really missing Seattle and Vancouver but what can you do? So Tomorrow marks the beginning of my two year post secondary education, expect some updates from what I'm doing in school, seeing is that's mainly why I made this blog.
